We know that there are many places
on our public lands that are “too wild to drill”, and we will continue to fight
for no drilling in those places. Where drilling and hydraulic fracturing or “fracking" does occur on other public lands, it is critically important
to ensure the health and safety of communities and the environment. This month, the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) will be accepting final comments on an important rule
regarding hydraulic fracturing on our nation’s federal public lands.
Fracking can be a dirty
process. At The Wilderness Society, we want to ensure that where public lands
are drilled for oil and gas, they are done so in the cleanest, safest manner. Tell the BLM that you want to
see the best standards in place for fracking on our public lands!
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from The Wilderness Society.
Dear Secretary Jewell,
