Protect wild bighorn sheep!

Bighorn sheep are one of the West’s most iconic animals. Their trademark curved horns and their notorious sure-footedness on even the steepest slopes are legendary. But now diseases from domestic sheep are spreading, and threatening struggling populations of bighorn sheep in Idaho’s Hells Canyon and Salmon River watershed.

The Wilderness Society, the Nez Perce Tribe and other conservation groups have fought for years to remove domestic sheep from these historic bighorn.  Today, nearly 300,000 acres in these rugged canyons are free of disease-bearing domestic sheep for the first time in over 100 years.
