The Thompson Divide, near Carbondale, is too wild to drill and the Bureau of Land Management knows it. They are re-examining drilling leases on more than 80,000 acres in the White River National Forest, home bugling elk and elusive lynx.
These leases are on roadless forests and in the watershed of gold-medal trout streams. Hikers, mountain bikers, hunters and anglers flock to the Thompson Divide for amazing scenery and wildlife.
The BLM has already examined similar leases, and found them invalid. Now it’s time for them to do the same for these leases, and protect the water and wildlife in the Thompson Divide.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from The Wilderness Society.
Dear Mr. Bennett,
