Don't let the shutdown and sequester hurt our wild lands!

For more than a week, Yosemite National Park has been closed to visitors due to the government shutdown. But less than two days into the shutdown, Members of Congress were advocating opening the park back up to logging companies!

This is the latest in a long string of attacks on our wild places. First came the massive budget cuts from “sequestration,” then the government shutdown, now this.

Every day that the government is shutdown is a day that our parks, wildlife refuges, and national monuments are at risk from vandalism, wildlife are threatened by poaching, and hardworking Americans are locked out of their own lands. These places are our national treasures and should be treated that way.
